Solstice
Solstice is a 7-minute, single-movement piece for violin, cello, and 1-2 kanteles.
The piece was written at the Creative Dialogue XIV course under the guidance of Julian Anderson, Eija Kankaanranta, and Anssi Karttunen. It is a tribute to midsummer in the Arctic north where the sun never sets.
Solstice was premiered in the Organo Hall at the Music Centre in Helsinki, Finland, on July 8th, 2023.
